The first time I went to Jake's, I had a groupon. They performed so perfectly on service, food and cleanliness, their marketing on groupon worked as I have been back several times. The staff is extremely friendly and polite. They go out of their way to make sure you are getting everything you need, even had a manager bring extra napkins to my table without having asked for them (but did need them). I had a milkshake and it was just toooooo much for me, so I asked if I could possibly have a cup to take it with me - the guy behind the counter did one better and packaged it up for me (as opposed to just handing me a cup). The food is great. Onion rings, substantial. Dipping sauces, delightful. Burgers, moist and meaty and delicious. Salads, fresh and filling. The menu is right-sized, in that there are enough options for variety, but the stars of the show are showcased properly, being the burger and the shake. The monthly special is usually tempting, but you can't go wrong getting a burger Jake's way. The place is clean. Wiped down and orderly. Nothing on the floor. No sticky table surfaces. Nothing sketchy. It smells clean. It looks clean. The grill looks clean. The soda machine doesn't have sticky syrup spots all over the front. Give it a go.

Made my first visit to Jake's about 10 days ago and have to say I loved the burger. I had the Cheeeesy Burger, talk about artery clogging goodness!!! The Burger was very juicy, I loved the buttered bun and the ungodly amount of cheese. I also had an order of Onion Rings, while they were very good the order was very small. GF had a Jake Cheeseburger with the works and an order of Fries which she very much enjoyed. Chocolate shake was incredibly tasty as well. I will be back, though not that often because I would love to live past 50, while the food is incredibly tasty I do actually care about my health.

Luckily for Jake's Wayback Burgers (JWB), Newtown Square is short on lunch options. After each of my 3 regrettable visits to this restaurant, I left muttering to myself, "I'm never coming back here again." JWB is a vision of incompetence. In my visits, I have never been able to leave the restaurant with my burger in under 20 minutes. During my last visit, I saw no less than 5 customers walk out without ever getting their food. It's not every day that you get to witness ineptitude on this scale, and for those with a morbid curiosity, it could be worthwhile to bear witness to the comedy of errors that routinely unfold at this establishment. I should mention that the last burger I ordered was way overcooked and had the consistency of cardboard, as if it was cooking during the entirety of my 40 minute wait. On my 2 other trips, the burger tasted pretty good, despite the fact that on one of those occassions, I did not receive the burger I ordered. But look, after waiting a half hour for a single burger, hunger usually outweighs taste.
